Artisanal Fisheries Promotion Project (PROPESCA)

To improve incomes and livelihoods of poor households involved in artisanal fishing. Works will include:

improvement of market infrastructure; such as wholesale/retail municipal fish marketing facilities;
rehabilitation of access roads;
electrification works in areas not connected to the national grid;
provision of alternative power supplies to remote fishing centers;
development of value chains;
establishment of financial services;
institutional strengthening; and
provision of training and other support activities.

An estimated 45,000 people are expected to directly benefit from the project.
