Project works will taka place in the agriculturally-rich regions of Ar-regga, Deir ez-zoor and Hassaka and will include:

  • construction of a 308 km-long road;
  • construction of a 380 m overpass bridge over the Euphrates River;
  • installation of drainage works to prevent flooding; and
  • paving of around 25 km of roads that will connect the new road with surrounding towns and villages.
On completion, the local population will benefit from swifter, more reliable travel to schools, health centers and markets. The road is also expected to serve as a primary transport route for domestic oil and gas supplies, with an estimated 700 trucks expected per day.
