The main objective of the project is to increase generation capacity required to supply electricity at an affordable or subsidized price to selected rural areas in Yemen, and to increase access to quality and reliable power supply to under-served consumer in remote rural areas. The overall objective is to develop new economic infrastructure and business models for promoting wind power technology development in Yemen, as well as to enhance the competitive economic advantage of Yemen's economy, while increasing jobs and protecting the environment. Works will include the installation of all equipment and materials needed to supply wind-powered energy to around 75,000 people.
