This project will upgrade a 125-km portion of an extremely isolated, unpaved road, which is rendered impassable in the rainy seasons, to bituminous concrete standard. As a result, trade between Mali and Mauritania will be greatly facilitated, benefiting some 1.6 million people from the improved living standard and incomes.
