The theme of the conference was “Cross-Boarder Provisions and the Future of Higher Education in Africa”. The conference addressed issues related to challenges which faced the higher education sector in Africa under the following sub-themes: autonomy of national education systems; access limitations and private sector involvement in higher education in Africa; and ensuring quality in trans-national higher education.
