This projects aims at facilitating connectivity within the capital Vientiane, where only around one-quarter of the road network is paved, with motorcycles being the primary source of transport. Project activities will include: construction of bus-ways, stations and road markings and signs upgrading of traffic lights purchase of 96 new BRT buses A fare pricing structure will be geared towards making services affordable for poor households. On completion, the project will ease travel constraints for the 750,000 Vientiane residents and enable better and safer access to jobs and social services.
