Tunisian-Indian
Fertilizers S.A. (TIFERT) is a joint venture between
Tunisian partners involved in the production of phosphate
and phosphoric acid and Indian companies
engaged in the production and sale of fertilizers using
phosphoric acid as an input. The project concerns the
construction of a new phosphoric acid production
facility, which will use local phosphate rock as its main
raw material. Once operational, the facility will help
boost production of phosphoric acid and create further
value-added for the mining industry. It will also
generate significant employment in a region where
there are few industries and help consolidate the
country’s economic decentralization program.
