This loan will co-finance the purchase of medical equipment needed to complete the 82,000 m2 Tishreen University Education Hospital. On completion, the hospital will have a capacity of 660 beds with the capability of expansion.
The hospital will have departments for general medicine and surgery, and wards that will cater for a wide range of specialties, as well as an emergency room, and an outpatient clinic capable of handling up to 2,000 patients per day. In addition to providing comprehensive hospital services for a population of 800,000, the hospital will function as an enhanced clinical training and research facility for the medical students at Tishreen University.
