The project will meet part of the urgent demand for telecommunication facilities. The project involves the installation of: (a) 17,000 live units of local automatic telephone exchange equipment as cables, telephone instruments trunk transmission and switching centers; (b) 120 telex and gentex exchange lines and 80 telex and subscriber units. Expected benefits include a strong contribution to general economic and social development, as well as contribution to the management of the economy and institution building.
