The grant was extended to Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) with the overall objective of durably reducing mortality due to waterborne diseases in the Central African Republic (CAR), and to enhance local capacities and involvement in the supply of basic WASH services. The proposed intervention entailed an integrated and holistic program, encompassing a two-fold approach addressing both hardware issues with the construction of boreholes or school latrines, and a soft package including hygiene promotion and capacity building components. In total 35 villages in CAR were targeted and a total of 17,181 people benefitted from the project.
