The education sector in Grenada is facing several constraints, particularly after hurricanes damaged a number of schools and destroyed valuable equipment and supplies. Rehabilitation works will range from minor repairs to complete reconstruction or replacement of buildings and school kitchens at 10 targeted primary and secondary schools. Under Government’s School Feeding Program, the project will carry out the following:

  • rehabilitation/reconstruction of seven kitchens;
  • provision of industrial cookers at various schools;
  • provision of equipment and furniture; and
  • capacity building and institution strengthening.
An estimated 7,900 children are expected to enrol each year at the newly-rehabilitated schools.
