The Rosso-Boghé lies near the Senegal River, which, as the country’s only navigable waterway, is a vital trade link. The road, however, often becomes impassable during the rainy season, a situation that hinders income generation, particularly in areas with high agricultural potential. Project works will include paving of the 196 km Rosso-Boghé road expansion of the road network by adding an extra 3.5 km of urban road in Boghé and 15.5 km of paved link roads off the main highway. Once completed, thousands of previously isolated families will be able to enjoy year-round access to social services, marketplaces and jobs.
