This project aims at improving basic sanitary conditions in the Panama City and Bay Region, encompassing an area of around 21,000 ha. This will be done through the:
- expansion and construction of new sewerage facilities in low-income settlements;
- reducing of pollution of the rivers crossing the Panama metropolitan area;
- expansion of city sewerage pipe networks;
- installation of new household connections for up to 12,300 households; and,
- construction of a secondary water treatment plant and pumping station.
