This project supported a Master's program which entailed awarding ten scholarships to young professionals with practical work experience from developing, non OFID Member Countries in The Middle East and North Africa, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, with the field of their studies being renewable energy and energy efficiency. The bicultural course, which is taught at both Kassel University in Germany and Cairo University in Egypt, offered a three-semester program which concludes with a MSc degree from both universities (double degree), whereby one semester was taught in Cairo, the second in Kassel, and the third is dedicated to master thesis research. Due to minor modifications in project structure, one more beneficiary was added. In summary, eleven young professionals received an OFID scholarship, four from Tunisia, two each from Egypt and India, and one each from Cameroon, Pakistan and Yemen.
