The project is part of an overall programme to rehabilitate the electric power network in 8 zones of the Khartoum area. The Fund's project is a self-sustained project involving the construction of five sub-stations in five areas of Khartoum with the accompanying engineering and supervision services. Construction of sub-stations is to allow electricity power system to convert higher voltage to medium and low-voltage currents to connect the increasing number of residential, commercial and industrial customers.
