The road transportation sector plays a key role in Benin for meeting internal needs and for moving goods to and from neighboring countries. This project aims at improving access to the northern part of the country, an area with significant agricultural potential.
This will be done by upgrading a deteriorated 118 km-long earth road that links the town of Kandi to the Nigerian border via the village of Segbana, where poverty levels are inordinately high. The provision of a paved, all-weather stretch will facilitate the transport of inputs and agricultural goods and improve the population’s access to social services.
