The Kamuzu International Airport, the most important one in Malawi, is situated some 25 km north of the capital Lilongwe. The condition of the airport’s runway, taxiways and apron becoming worn owing to the advanced age of the facility. The project will therefore resurface runways and taxiways, repair parking aprons and install new lighting fixtures and signage, among other refurbishment works. The newly-rehabilitated infrastructure will enable the airport to increase its number of flights, thus bringing in more revenue for the country.
