This project will build a 99km stretch between the cities of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra, inhabited by around two million people. This will help the region’s small farmers receive inputs and transport produce, and in turn raise incomes and boost food security. The road not only will provide a connection between two of the largest and most populated cities of the country, but also access to the historic city of Sucre (former capital of the country with around 250,000 inhabitants). The completion of the project will enhance the economic benefits of transportation investments the country has made thus far, particularly by providing an alternate route in this east-west situated corridor.
