The project will rehabilitate Havana’s high voltage transmission system and medium and low-voltage distribution network. This will be carried via the following works:
- repair and construction of substations and power lines;
- installation of lightning rods;
- modernization of underground networks in Havana’s historic district;
- upgrading of meters, power lines and other equipment connecting the distribution network to approximately 435,000 households, as well as major industrial and commercial premises; and
- provision of training to staff of Empresa Eléctrica de Ciudad de la Habana, Havana’s largest provincial electricity provider.
