This project aimed at enhancing access to essential treatment services for cancer patients from all parts of the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) including East Jerusalem, through strengthening the capacity of the Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH). The project is a scale up of a previous phase which OFID supported in 2015. Project activities included the rehabilitation, renovation and expansion of an existing wing to be added to the chemotherapy department; and the procurement of medical equipment and furniture for the designated area. The expansion targeted adding around 400 m2 to the existing chemotherapy department space of 200 m2. The project has met all its targets, and the new wing was handed over to the Hospital. The department is currently functional and fully operational.
