With the aim of improving health care services for about 17.4 million people in the town of Basti and surrounding districts, this project financed the establishment of a 500-bed, three-story general hospital. In addition to construction of the hospital building itself, the project included the provision of medical equipment and furniture, as well as a residential compound for hospital staff.
