The project consists of the design and construction of an ammonia/urea fertilizer plant with a capacity of about 1,600 tons per day (t/d) of urea and 925 t/d of ammonia at Ashuganj, about 100 km northeast of the capital of Dhaka. Construction of supporting facilities and the provision of advisors and training services are also included in the project. With the plant coming on stream, self-sufficiency in urea fertilizer will be attained in Bangladesh.
