The project will build an Abu Qir Power Plant located 33 km east of the port city of Alexandria, adjacent to the Abu Qir Steam Power Station.

  • construction of a new power plant that will contain two steam-turbine generating units, each capable of delivering 650 MW of power, and two pressurized steam generators
  • building of a desalination plant and wastewater treatment facility
In addition to providing the population with an efficient and reliable supply of power, the project is expected to create 3,000 temporary jobs, out of which around 90% will be filled by casual laborers. In addition, around 400 permanent jobs will be created upon the project’s completion.
